Welcome to Growing up Giving.
In this blog I hope to highlight and encourage ways for people of any age and any back ground to give back.
I believe it is never too early to learn how to give back.
I am the mother of Ém an almost 6 month old baby girl, and I want to start teaching her right away the importance of doing good things.
You would think it would be hard to get a 6 month old involved, but I am already finding it is easier than even I thought.
In the coming weeks, days and months, I will be adding more information about how to involve yourself, your kids and even your parents in simple charity events.
Living with a 6 month old means this blog will be a big work in progress and I might skip a day or two (or twelve) here and there, but I will do my best to add informative information as much as possible.
I will be looking for guest bloggers that are interested in helping bring more information, so if you have a good article please contact me at growingupgiving@gmail.com

  1. When my kids were young, every November, just before Christmas, we would go through their usable toys and they chose the ones they wanted to give to a needy child. Then we would pack them up along with some of their clothes that they had outgrown and take them to the agency that would distribute them to a particular family of 12 that we knew of. Now my oldest is 40 and my youngest is 38 and they both are very giving young women and enjoy the memory of doing that when small.

    1. Thanks for the story Ros! These are exactly the kinds of things we hope to get going! I do believe starting young is the key to a life time of good deeds!
